Hillcrest Mountain View Cottage is the perfect romantic weekend getaway just 12 minutes drive from the centre of Murwillumbah in the stunning Tweed Coast hinterland on the Far North Coast of NSW - a short 35 minute drive from Gold Coast airport and only 90 mins drive from Brisbane.
Winner of multiple Tourism Awards, including this years NSW State Award of Excellence, Hillcrest Cottage is designed to offer peaceful and romantic self catering accommodation for one couple only.
Set in a
secluded (fenced) garden close to our 12 metre solar heated,
salt-water pool, our Cottage offers spectacular views in every direction, fully functional kitchen, gas BBQ, separate air-conditioned lounge with wood fire,
wide screen stereo TV, dvd and stereo system, QS bedroom and large ensuite bathroom with
top of the range luxury double spa bath and separate oversize shower.
Hillcrest Cottage is centrally located to a range of activities, beauty spots and World Heritage Listed National Parks in the Tweed Valley, including the famous Mt Warning ~ the spot where the first dawn sun touches the East coast of Australia.
Mt Warning can be clearly seen from both the cottage bedroom and bathroom. You can lay back and relax in a bubble bath, sip on champagne and look directly at Mt Warning at the same time.

Self catering couples will love the fully functional kitchen with a full size gas stove, fridge and microwave oven, as well as Gas BBQ on your private verandah, so you can enjoy the traditional Aussie BBQ whilst taking in the spectacular views to Springbrook and the Cougal Mountains.
You can choose to fully self cater, or take our breakfast basket option which includes: your choice of juice, selection of cereals, pancake mix, fresh fruit, yoghurt, a loaf of home-baked bread, our own free range eggs, selection of home-made preserves, butter, milk, local honey, selection of teas and fresh coffee. For longer stays we vary selections with such items as smoked salmon, avocado, waffles with warm spiced plums ~ or you name your preference and we'll do our best to oblige.

Completely separate from the QS bedroom and large ensuite bathroom, the comfortable lounge has high raked ceilings, reverse cycle air-conditioning & ceiling fans for summer comfort.
For a winter getaway you'll love the wood burning fire. Designed for winter romance, baskets of wood are supplied with our compliments during the colder months.
The air-conditioned lounge comes complete with a wide screen television, dvd player and stereo system including CD player. With a selection of books, games, music CDs and DVDs for your enjoyment, the cottage is your self catering holiday romantic getaway on the beautiful Tweed Coast hinterland. In addition both of the video libraries in Murwillumbah will provide temporary membership to Hillcrest Cottage guests.
Double glass sliding doors look from the lounge to the rainforests of Springbrook Ranges, which are just across the border in Queensland, and the Cougal Mountains.
We have lots of information on things to see and do during your stay in the in the beautiful Tweed area, from horse riding and joy-flights to villages drives and markets, and will happily help you plan your itinerary if you wish.

Hillcrest Mountain View Self Contained Cottage is tastefully decorated in a modern Australian contemporary style, however the emphasis is on comfort as we don't believe our guests are more interested in the design of a chair than how comfortable it is to sit on!
Guests enjoy a Queen Size bedroom with double glass sliding doors looking directly at Mt Warning. Two built-in wardrobes provide plenty of hanging space and lots of hangers. Pool towels and bath-robes are also provided.
Air-conditioning and ceiling fans ensure summer comfort, whilst the wood fire and the reverse cycle conditioner keep you warm in winter ~ we put an electric blanket on the bed during the cooler months for extra cosiness.
The bedroom is completely separate from the lounge and has a large ensuite bathroom with top of the range, luxury double spa bath:
